Theme Wizard - Ranged Values
The Range Theme Wizard provides an option for setting up different styles and labels based on the range of values of the selected attribute. The wizard allows you to choose the attribute on which to base the theme on the page below and calculate the range from the available value domain:
In addition to selecting the attribute we should specify how many ranges (classes) should be calculated and we should select the range calculation mode. Currently only the 'Equal Interval' mode is supported which provides to cut the value domain to equal intervals as we can see on the image below:
The following additional parameters can be specified in the tange theme dialogue:
- Derive the Styles From the Original Layer - By checking this option the generated classes will take over the style/symbols and label settings of the original layer, otherwise the default rendering behaviour will take place.
- Override Only the First Style - If the layer has multiple styles only the first style will be modified automatically.
- Colour Ramp - The Colour Ramp Selector combo allows to specify the range of colours which will be used as the colours of the classes. We can select either the predefined colour ranges (as defined in the Application Settings dialogue), the 'Random values' colour ramp to provide random colour values or specify the 'Empty' colour ramp to suppress colouring. By selecting the 'New colour ramp' we can define furter colour ramps using the New Colour Ramp dialogue.
- Outline Colour Ramp - Colour Ramp Selector combo allows to specify the range of colours which will be used as the outline colours of the classes. We can select either the predefined colour ranges (as defined in the Application Settings dialogue), the 'Random values' colour ramp to provide random colour values or specify the 'Empty' colour ramp to suppress colouring. - Background Colour Ramp - Colour Ramp Selector combo allows to specify the range of colours which will be used as the background colours of the classes. We can select either the predefined colour ranges (as defined in the Application Settings dialogue), the 'Random values' colour ramp to provide random colour values or specify the 'Empty' colour ramp to suppress colouring. Right clicking on the class or style nodes the context menu is shown up. By selecting the Properties menu item the parameters can be modified by using the corresponding Class Property Editor or Style Property Editor.
Pressing the Finish button the changes will be applied on the layer and the Map Window will be refreshed accordingly or you can undo the changes with the Cancel button.
